Jack Rabbits

If you would like to purchase any of these please contact Lauren Addis while the show is still up!

:,,,,,) Year of the Rabbit

Beau Buck is one of my very dear friends, and he currently has a show up at the URBN 543 gallery ( I will post pictures up ASAP) and these jackrabbits are amazing and beautiful.

I'm the luckiest girl in the world because look what I got in the mail today?

" It's you if you was a rabbit "

In a fire this is coming with me.

But what can't this guy do? He also gets to be engaged to my beautiful sweet friend Gabrielle.

Please check out all of his amazing work.

O has turned into the little sister I never thought I had, somehow spending all this time with her, actually makes me like her more as a person. It's very rare to find, loyal, kind, compassionate people in life who genuinely want to help you.

Life is so cool.

I've been working on a few wedding invitations for some dear friends and here is one that I think is quite lovely. I am waiting for the day when someone hires me just for my handwriting....

I don't think anyone can doubt the cinematic performances of this story written by R. Kelly's in this duet with Usher. Or how amazing is it that R. Kelly is in Usher's phone as Kell's? And more importantly why don't those 2 have iphones?

Jazz Age Beauties

Jazz Age Beauties The Lost Collection of Ziegfield Photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston

This is one of my favorite book purchases of last year. The most beautiful nudes and so inspiring for drawing, fashion, details, figures, haircuts, everything.
I was going to link up the book to something like Amazon, but then I realized that I bought this book because I was perusing a bookstore in San Francisco. And I realized how much I loved bookstores that were open late, and had employee picks and reccommendations.

So yes this book is lovely and inspiring, but if you can help it, please support your local independent bookstore, because nothing is cooler than walking in not knowing what you want, and leaving with exactly what you wanted.

I normally don't get all silly about my day job of designing clothes, but erm, here is Sasha Pivovarova wearing a skirt I made??? That is just surreal... first David Hughes and now this.....

Poetic Aesthetic

John just put up the Gallery Preview Link to the show, and um can I just say that the work looks really good and I am so glad to be a part of it, uh and who knew I would ever be in a show with one of my favorites David Hughes ( eh hem the master scratchy pen work and type with wierd drawings, makes me proud to have wierd looking work....there might be hope for me yet...) and of course the amazing work of Tim Gough.

The Kids are Alright

Kid's books never cease to completely inspire and blow me away. I can only aspire to this ridiculous beauty.
Here's one of my favorites "123" by Art Seiden and O's amazing Tiger Flower with illustrations by Fleur Cowles. Um and double check the sweet typography too.

Nerd Alert.

"Little Dragon" was the loveliest show, what made it so great was that Yukimi jumped into the crowd below and danced with us, when does that ever happen? Why ever get too famous that you can't do that? What a beautiful thing to be so close to the people who just want to see you do what you do best and love?

X's and O's to that my friend.

Draw Jamm

James Ulmer is one of my favorite drawers, and every once in awhile we nerd out and he keeps me updated on contemporary art tells me where Kanye West gets his samples from and we draw really wierd things.

Draw Jamm, I think it happens on Sundays?

Mini Chocolate

Sylvain Chomet's The Illusionists

I regret not seeing Toy Story 3 in the movie theaters, because I think it was one of the best movies of 2010.

But to my hearts delight, The Illusionist is coming out this month, which is from the same French Genious who created the Triplets of Belleville.

Here is the lovely trailer, that makes my heart skip a few beats. XXX

Call To Arms

Call to Arms
It's no secret, my winter and my 2010 has been rough.

Break ups, houses, puppies, friends, some new, some old, some lost, some temporary.

Feeling Temporary and Lost.

But to all you bad bitches out there, who came a running to my call to arms, with open arms, I thank

And with that, I am now obsessed with Cholas ( because thems is some bad bitches ) and there

will be some art in the making involving, flannels, old english, and of course some dark lipstick.

I mean how can I not love Suspenders and Dickies?

This one is beautious, so much art made from this one image.

And of course the inkmaster Mike Giant's Cholas.

Hi-Fructose Blog

Sometimes I forget why I bother to such a thing as make art, where I doubt, question, wonder, and lament over such a silly thing. And then I get reminded that , oh yes I like painting, and maybe a few other people like it too?

Thanks JL Schnabel and Hi-Fructose.

Alex total babe

Check the neon socks....
